Garden Makara

The same name, with a garden. An open-air version, built for summer evenings.

It was laid out over two floors, each with a function of its own: a restaurant serving Italian-leaning world cuisine below, and above it a club playing underground music until morning.

It seated four hundred and reached seven hundred counting those standing. The door opened at midnight and closed at five, so the room was designed entirely around the small hours.

This was the largest scale the portfolio ever reached at a single address, and that capacity was never repeated anywhere else. The split function of the two floors drew the dividing line for the brands that followed: food below, music above. The same building later produced two further brands as salon and terrace.
