Şamata
Where the name came from
The first place the holding took over. Two days before reopening, while a new name was still being sought, a remark at the table became the name of the whole house. Şamata closed; its own name did not survive, but the holding's came out of it.
It operated in Beşiktaş, at the address that would later become the portfolio's main artery. The venue was not built from nothing; it was taken on as a working business and reopened under a new name.
That acquisition is the move that set the portfolio's character: rather than putting up a new building, take a going concern and reposition it. The same method was repeated for two more venues in Etiler in the years that followed — each time the name changed and the door stayed the same.
The door grew by dividing beneath the roof it had named — first a garden, then a salon, then a terrace became separate brands, and for a period all three ran at once. None of those layers is held by the holding today; several businesses on the street are still listed at that same number.
The Finer Details
This brand is no longer part of the holding. The page remains as portfolio history.
