A table facing the Bosphorus
ReserveOn Cevdet Paşa Caddesi, right at the water's edge. A meyhane that keeps the tradition and lifts the service: long evenings, meze arriving plate by plate, tables still full late.
The building is a waterside house working off two frontages: one face to the street, the other to the sea. Timber and glass run into one another, and anyone at the far tables takes themselves for being out on a jetty. Gulls come down beside the plates.
The room carries three separate functions through the day. Morning and midday it is a neighbourhood table — starters arrive as filling as a main course, served one plate at a time. Toward evening the bar comes forward, the kitchen holds a Mediterranean line and the programme runs past midnight. It is an address that never joined the loud side of the district: no stage, no valet.
The structure it occupies is not one venue but a multi-concept complex: a fish room, a meyhane and a meat section all work at the same street number. The portfolio's weight in Bebek comes from this house, each concept taking on a different span of hours. Since tables fill early at weekends, reservations are advised for the evening.
